I first hired Charles to repair a non-typical structural roof problem caused by an aged roof leak. My insurance company refused any help on the repair, so I was on my own. Charles worked to make the repair as painless as possible! I was so impressed by his company's performance and my pleasant experience that I hired him a few weeks later to build cabinets and an entertainment center for my great room. He is a think first...then acts, type of contractor. He offers up advice but is willing and able to make your sometimes "out -of-the-box" ideas work if at all possible. All of my projects required work and oversight on custom designs. We have used Charlie for multiple major and minor renovations in our home, and he has done a truly outstanding job every time. We just finished a master bedroom addition, complete with bathroom, shower, air-tub, walk-in closet, new roof and expansive bluestone patio. Our goal was to keep the addition in keeping with the rest of the house, i.e... same cabinet door design, window patterns, ect.., and Charlie came through for us. While we did go over budget (who doesn't) a little, it was extras ordered by us and not cost overruns. Charlie's subs are indeed, his primary asset, and ones for which we have kept business cards so as to use in the future. In addition, his scheduled billings are broken down by item, precise and always in agreement with the contract amounts. And unlike some other contractors, he is on the job every day, including weekends. In summary, I would at least include Charlotte Remodeling in your list of bidders and if not the lowest bid, consider the above in your final analysis.
